Static site hosting served primarily from real, already-owned hardware — not rented cloud capacity — with automatic Cloudflare and GitHub Pages backup. Cheap because of that, not because it's more reliable than Cloudflare. It isn't, and this page says so on purpose.
Your static site's primary copy is served by a real nginx instance on a Mac John Mobley already owns, reached over the public internet through a real Cloudflare Tunnel (no port-forward, no exposed IP). A real GitHub Pages mirror is kept in sync as the backup tier, with an optional Cloudflare Pages/Worker fallback. Built, tested, and verified end-to-end against a real live test domain — see "How we know it works" below.
There is no metered serverless compute charge, because the machine serving your site is already paid for and already running. That's the entire cost advantage — not a cleverer edge network than Cloudflare's. Pricing itself isn't live yet (see Status below); the rationale is cost-passthrough, not a race-to-the-bottom gimmick.
A single Mac's real uptime is lower than Cloudflare's own global edge network, full stop. If this Mac's power or internet connection drops, your site falls back to its GitHub Pages / Cloudflare backup copy automatically on the DNS side only once that failover is actually wired per-domain — today the backup exists and is kept fresh, but cutover is not yet automatic. Anyone who needs five-nines should use Cloudflare directly, not GravNova.
This isn't a pitch-deck claim. onboard_site.py — the real onboarding script — has been run end-to-end against a live test domain: real nginx config generated, a real Cloudflare Tunnel ingress rule added, a real DNS record pointed at this Mac, a real GitHub Pages backup repo created and pushed, and the result independently verified reachable over the public internet (not just locally). Zero real paying customers exist yet. PowerHost, GravNova's other real, already-live product, is a free hosting cost/performance analyzer — a separate thing from the hosting service described above.
Live and real: the hosting mechanism itself (nginx + Tunnel primary, GitHub Pages backup, optional Cloudflare Pages fallback), proven against a real test domain. Not live yet: public signup, billing/checkout (deliberately not built this pass — that's real money and gets its own careful pass), automatic DNS failover if this Mac goes down, and any real paying customer.
